If Alissa and Joseph’s Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding could be described in one word, it would be: joyful. It was such a delight photographing these childhood sweethearts (or should we say babyhood? They met as infants!) tying the knot on a perfect May evening earlier this year. Every time I turned around, Alissa and […]
I’m back with another intimate wedding, this time photographed at Great Falls Park in Maryland. Bree and Robin pushed back their wedding day due to the pandemic, but wanted to officially get married on their original date. When we chatted through a few location options for their intimate wedding, they loved the majestic nature of […]
Did you catch Loretta and Nathan’s Belmont Manor wedding in last month’s print copy of the Washingtonian? Loretta is a self-described Anglophile, and I loved seeing their colorful English garden inspiration come to life at Belmont Manor in Elkridge, Maryland. The couple married under magnolia trees at Belmont Manor and then greeted friends and family […]
Carolyn and Sonitha were originally supposed to be married at a hotel in Washington DC in 2020. Like many of the couples impacted by COVID-19, they chose to reschedule to 2021. When local DC restrictions still did not ease up in the spring, they pivoted and changed venues, selecting the beautiful Stone Tower Winery in […]
Marissa and Chris are MARRIED! This Elkridge Furnace Inn wedding was one of my first “full” weddings back after the pandemic, and everything went so smoothly. Marissa and Chris were originally scheduled to wed in June, but rescheduled to August when COVID-19 hit. Elkridge Furnace Inn overlooks the Patapsco River, and is such a charming […]
Time for a personal post! I’m sharing our anniversary photos, which I was able to DIY at home without an extra set of hands. Read on for the backstory and some tips on capturing self-portraits with a remote and tripod… We had our five year wedding anniversary planned LAST YEAR- a trip to the Galapagos […]
Sharing these darling engagement photos captured at the Inn at Perry Cabin today! Set in the idyllic town of Saint Michaels, Maryland, the Inn at Perry Cabin is an iconic coastal wedding venue. Made famous by the movie Wedding Crashers, the Inn at Perry Cabin oozes classic tradition and charm. It also happens to be […]
Hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! I shot Taylor and Matt’s beautiful vineyard wedding at 8 Chains North Winery located in Virginia wine country on Saturday, and am so excited to share a few sneak peeks with you! Taylor and Matt are the sweetest couple together, and it was so fun to see […]
DAR Constitution Hall is one of the most iconic Washington, DC wedding venues. The tall marble columns and views of the Washington Monument make it a complete show stopper when combined with the O’Byrne Gallery for wedding receptions. I shot Genta and Josh’s wedding at DAR Constitution Hall back in April and can’t stop smiling […]
BEHIND THE LENS
Director, curator, documentarian, photographer, storyteller. Inspired by history, culture, and the stories that connect us.
My family immigrated to the United States as refugees, leaving their lives behind in search of a brighter future. With all their worldly belongings contained in the suitcases they carried, the scant photographs that crossed the ocean have served as a lifeline to stories untold, allowing me to piece together my family legacy, one image at a time. Decades later, I discovered photography as a medium to document my travels (37 countries and counting!) and encapsulate the joy and happiness that each new adventure brings.
