Hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! I shot Taylor and Matt’s beautiful vineyard wedding at 8 Chains North Winery located in Virginia wine country on Saturday, and am so excited to share a few sneak peeks with you! Taylor and Matt are the sweetest couple together, and it was so fun to see their friends and family gather to celebrate their love. We started the day off by popping some bubbly with Taylor and her gals, and I think it may have helped build the excitement for her first look with them- check out their reactions! Buttercups Floral Design did an incredible job with the florals- I just love the pink and blue color palette! We were able to incorporate the florals into their detail shots- Taylor’s aunt designed the stationery!

Taylor’s father officiated their wedding, which added an incredible personal touch to the ceremony. The sun slowly setting in the vineyard at 8 Chains North made for the perfect backdrop. And then the sword arch recessional. Oh. my. word. Picture perfect, wouldn’t you agree? These are the photos that will grace the walls and picture frames for Taylor and Matt for decades to come. Then, we launched into the reception, which was filled with laughter, awesome dance moves, and a few happy tears. One of my favorite moments of the evening was watching Taylor and Matt’s first dances with their parents. This was touching enough on its own, but then I glanced over at their siblings and it just gave me ALL of the feels.

Extra brownie points to Taylor for a hysterical garter/bouquet toss which included…icing her new husband! We capped off the evening with a beautiful sparkler exit. What an amazing way to end an amazing night, with an amazing couple. Congratulations, Taylor and Matt!

BEHIND THE LENS

meet Winnie

Director, curator, documentarian, photographer, storyteller. Inspired by history, culture, and the stories that connect us.

My family immigrated to the United States as refugees, leaving their lives behind in search of a brighter future. With all their worldly belongings contained in the suitcases they carried, the scant photographs that crossed the ocean have served as a lifeline to stories untold, allowing me to piece together my family legacy, one image at a time. Decades later, I discovered photography as a medium to document my travels (37 countries and counting!) and encapsulate the joy and happiness that each new adventure brings.
