If Alissa and Joseph’s Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding could be described in one word, it would be: joyful. It was such a delight photographing these childhood sweethearts (or should we say babyhood? They met as infants!) tying the knot on a perfect May evening earlier this year. Every time I turned around, Alissa and Joseph were beaming- at one another, their friends, and their family. It was touching to witness their reactions to every part of the day (Alissa is the most photogenic crier ever!) as they soaked in every minute of the celebrations.
When I walked into the bridal suite at the Inn at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club that morning, Alissa smiled at me and professed, “I’m not nervous at all. I have complete trust in my vendor team and am so happy to be here.” Music to my ears! The first of their friends to be married, Alissa and Joseph really placed their trust in their vendor team to guide them through the planning, and I was more than happy to connect them with some of my favorite industry colleagues. I knew that Mill Creek Florals was the perfect person to translate Alissa and Joseph’s bright, vibrant personalities into their floral design, and holy smokes did Thai deliver. I love the punchy, juicy florals set against the back drop of Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, what a treat to photograph!
There are so many beautiful moments from this Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding, but my favorite is when Joseph serenaded Alissa on saxophone to Alicia Keys. (Fun fact, he’s wrapping up med school and was a music double major- talk about talent!). His soulful performance was equal parts fun and heart warming. Future couples: add this to your wish list!
