Manor at Airmont Wedding | Lucy and Sean

Lucy and Sean are FINALLY married! This lovely couple had to postpone their wedding three (or was it four?) times, due to many of Lucy’s family and friends facing travel restrictions from the UK, where she grew up. They hosted their wedding at the beautiful Manor at Airmont in Round Hill, Virginia. The Manor at […]

DAR Constituton Hall Summer Wedding | DC Wedding Photographer

Rachel and Gabriel’s summer wedding at DAR Constitution Hall was the perfection fusion celebration for this California duo. Gabriel is originally from the DC region, so providing a classic DC wedding experience was important to Rachel and Gabe. We started the day off at the Willard Intercontinental where the bride and groom got ready with […]

Japan in the Fall

One of our last big international trips before the pandemic was to Japan. I traveled to Tokyo with my brother a few years ago, but Darren had never been. We were eager to explore Japan in the fall, and our trip did not disappoint. We spent time in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hakone, and also took […]

Hamptons Fall Wedding at Rams Head Inn

Liz and Ted exchanged vows at the charming Rams Head Inn last fall in the New York Hamptons. Nestled on Shelter Island, Rams Head Inn was the perfect venue for their laid back wedding day with waterfront views and cedar shake siding that so perfectly embody the Hamptons. Ted spent his summers vacationing on Long […]

Winslow Room Baltimore Wedding || Jess & Chris

As of the day that I’m sharing this post, Jess & Chris’s original wedding date at the Winslow Room in Baltimore has not happened yet. I’ll let you pause and reread that! Yes, they were originally scheduled to be married later this October, and then this summer I got an email from Jess. “Winnie, we’re […]

Downtown Frederick Engagement Session || Melissa & Eric

Popping in to share Melissa & Eric’s downtown Frederick engagement session today! Downtown Frederick is one of my favorite ‘city’ recommendations for couples who might be a little crowd averse. There are a number of sites to shoot at which offer quaint city vibes, mixed with a little nature here and there at Baker Park […]

Kennedy Center Engagement Session|| Carolyn & Sonitha

I finally had a chance to meet up with Carolyn and Sonitha for their Kennedy Center engagement session in DC! They were actually supposed to be married this weekend, but like many other couples this year made the difficult decision to postpone until 2021. The Kennedy Center offers the perfect mix of classic and modern […]

Marissa & Chris || Elkridge Furnace Inn Wedding Photography

Marissa and Chris are MARRIED! This Elkridge Furnace Inn wedding was one of my first “full” weddings back after the pandemic, and everything went so smoothly. Marissa and Chris were originally scheduled to wed in June, but rescheduled to August when COVID-19 hit. Elkridge Furnace Inn overlooks the Patapsco River, and is such a charming […]

DC War Memorial Wedding Elopement || Marilyn & Matt

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of shooting an intimate wedding elopement at the DC War Memorial. Marilyn and Matt had big wedding plans for the summer, which all came to a screeching halt with COVID-19. They decided to tie the knot in an elopement ceremony at the DC War Memorial with just their […]

BEHIND THE LENS

meet Winnie

Director, curator, documentarian, photographer, storyteller. Inspired by history, culture, and the stories that connect us.

My family immigrated to the United States as refugees, leaving their lives behind in search of a brighter future. With all their worldly belongings contained in the suitcases they carried, the scant photographs that crossed the ocean have served as a lifeline to stories untold, allowing me to piece together my family legacy, one image at a time. Decades later, I discovered photography as a medium to document my travels (37 countries and counting!) and encapsulate the joy and happiness that each new adventure brings.
