I’m back with another intimate wedding, this time photographed at Great Falls Park in Maryland. Bree and Robin pushed back their wedding day due to the pandemic, but wanted to officially get married on their original date. When we chatted through a few location options for their intimate wedding, they loved the majestic nature of Great Falls. Their minimony featured just their immediate family and closest friends, as well as their pup Toby (with the sweetest floral crown- his face!).
I loved their attention to detail for their special day. Even though it was a short and sweet affair, Bree and Robin added in extra time for getting ready photos and details that were made possible by a talented vendor team. Joanna Hope Art created a custom wedding suite complete with a hand drawn crest. Bree’s friends gifted her a Mrs. box that incorporated that crest on the lid, and I’ve got to say it is a favorite! Robin’s suit was custom tailored by Ainsley and Troupe, and I love the little accents incorporated into the tailoring- including his Chinese name embroidered into the suit lining. Never say that groom details don’t matter!
We used the Visitor Center at Great Falls as the home base for their detail and getting ready photos, letter exchange, and first look. Normally if you head to Great Falls on a Saturday, it is packed with visitors. We were prepared for onlookers, and had planned to work around people with the understanding that a few stray individuals would be inevitable in photos, especially since the beach where their ceremony was held is so popular. What we did not anticipate was the storm that began rolling through the area, and as we made our way down to their wedding ceremony site, the park very suddenly emptied out. We had the entire beach to ourselves! Their vow exchange was heartfelt and took place with the stunning rocks of Great Falls as a backdrop. I just felt so incredibly lucky to be able to document and capture this intimate wedding at Great Falls- congratulations, Bree and Robin!
