Today I’m sharing this action-packed, LGBTQ wedding at District Winery in Washington, DC. I associate shot this wedding for my good friend Kuralay at 1001 Angles Photography in March, the last weekend before the pandemic hit. District Winery is an edgy, modern waterfront wedding venue, situated along the waterfront in Southwest DC.
Having shot at District Winery a few times now, it is definitely a favorite for DC wedding venues that take an all-inclusive approach for their couples, for a number of reasons. Having the ceremony take place in the same location as the reception definitely is a convenience factor for guests. District Winery offers both an indoor and outdoor ceremony option, which is a nice bonus for the warmer months. There are also a number of hotels nearby to get ready in. This couple chose to stay at the Intercontinental, which has gorgeous, spacious suites for getting ready. Another reason I love District Winery? The food. is. amazing!
Anyway, more about this wedding! The wedding party, including the two grooms, got ready together at the Intercontinental Hotel. Having everyone get ready together made for a fun, relaxing morning- and how fun are Charles’s rainbow socks!? I love the color palette with shades of blue for their co-ed wedding party. Then, we headed over to District Winery for portraits before the ceremony. The grooms walked down the aisle together, and the party continued late into the night with a few traditional Jewish elements sprinkled in, including the hora!
