Happy New Year! So excited to finally share Amber and Quentin’s Deerfield Golf Club wedding, published in Philadelphia Magazine today. Just to set the tone, let me share the title of their feature here: “This Pretty Purple Wedding Begins With a Shot at the Bar For the First Look”. Talk about unique, am I right? But of course I knew that would be the case when I first met Amber and Quentin almost three (!!!) years ago for their engagement. Amber is a wedding planner, and Quentin is just the ultimate gentleman- and together they are one of the kindest and most gracious couples I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Let me tell you a little more about their blush and quartz dream of a wedding. There were so many special, personal details and surprises they incorporated throughout the day that made it truly memorable.
– Amber and Quentin have spent a lot of time at the Hilton’s bar, and were able to incorporate it into their fun and unique first look: the bride and groom sat back to back, took a shot of whiskey, and then turned to face one another for the big reveal!
– Quentin surprised Amber with all the ultra dapper details of his outfit (gentlemen: take note!), while Amber in turn surprised Quentin with a veil change before the ceremony, and a second dress change at the reception!
– They exchanged vows under a canopy of trees at the Read House and Gardens, and continued the party (with an aaaaamazing cake!) at the beautiful Deerfield Golf Club.
– The wedding cake was a luscious masterpiece by…the aptly named Master Baker, and guests found laser engraved name cutouts at their tables instead of a traditional name card.

BEHIND THE LENS

meet Winnie

Director, curator, documentarian, photographer, storyteller. Inspired by history, culture, and the stories that connect us.

My family immigrated to the United States as refugees, leaving their lives behind in search of a brighter future. With all their worldly belongings contained in the suitcases they carried, the scant photographs that crossed the ocean have served as a lifeline to stories untold, allowing me to piece together my family legacy, one image at a time. Decades later, I discovered photography as a medium to document my travels (37 countries and counting!) and encapsulate the joy and happiness that each new adventure brings.
