Last month I spent a wonderful week exploring Hong Kong with Darren and two good friends. It was a whirlwind of a trip, punctuated by lots (and lots and lots) of eating, walking (I think I averaged 35k+ steps on my Fitbit daily), and exploring. I hadn’t been back to HK in over 20 years, and have a completely different memory of the city. The juxtaposition of old versus new, traditional versus modern, nature versus urban is everywhere you turn in Hong Kong. It makes for some really excellent photographs. What I love most about Hong Kong is that you can be somewhere completely serene and by yourself within 45 minutes…or all your senses can be accosted from every which way if that is your jam.
While we were there, I snapped a few anniversary session portraits for my friends at Nan Lian garden. I think the garden beautifully illustrates the beauty of Hong Kong- traditional Eastern architecture amidst a beautiful garden, with the modern Hong Kong skyline in the background. I can’t wait to go back.
