Last Thursday I headed down to Old Town Alexandria in eager anticipation for Lucy & Sean’s engagement session. I popped into a Starbucks to recharge…and then the skies went dark, and the sheets of rain came pouring down. Yikes! Then, a ping on my phone from Lucy: accident on the GW Parkway. Double yikes. But it was completely meant to be, because as soon as the rain started to die down, Lucy texted again. They had bypassed the traffic, and we were on!
Lucy and Sean’s mother used to work together, and after they became friends, Sean and Lucy met. After six plus years together, Sean proposed on Christmas day! The lovebirds had just woken up and opened their stockings to each other. Lo and behold, Sean had hidden the ring in the bottom of Lucy’s stocking! Christmas presents will never be the same after that!
Old Town Alexandria is such a charming location for engagement photos. I love all the European-inspired charm: cobblestone covered walkways, the vintage gates, and hidden gardens tucked away at every street corner. Lucy is from England originally, and together with Sean enjoys visiting their family and friends back home every year. I’m hoping for some colorful fascinators to make a sighting at their Manor at Airmont wedding next year!
Speaking of weddings next year, I’ve been having such a wonderful time getting to know my 2020 couples over the past few weeks. It’s crazy to say this, especially since it’s only August, but I am almost fully booked! If you are tying the knot next year, contact me soon so we can chat about your big day!
