I had the opportunity to travel to upstate New York for Ash and Grace’s destination Indian fusion wedding in October! This intimate destination wedding took place in Rochester just as the fall colors were changing, and it was absolutely breathtaking! Ash and Grace both live in Philadelphia, but wanted to celebrate with 20 of their nearest and dearest in Grace’s hometown. Ash’s family flew in from India, and it was so wonderful to see their two families come together in a blend of traditions and cultures. One of the elements I love most about Indian weddings is all of the colors, and we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day for their outdoor ceremony. Congratulations, Grace and Ash!

My family immigrated to the United States as refugees, leaving their lives behind in search of a brighter future. With all their worldly belongings contained in the suitcases they carried, the scant photographs that crossed the ocean have served as a lifeline to stories untold, allowing me to piece together my family legacy, one image at a time. Decades later, I discovered photography as a medium to document my travels (37 countries and counting!) and encapsulate the joy and happiness that each new adventure brings.
